The Real Time Analytics team owns, develops and maintains storage solutions for our internal & external users to help them analyze their service or pins’ performance. Our goal is to provide actionable insights to our clients in as little as 60 seconds. To achieve this we have created an in house time series storage solution and use open source platforms. These systems get information out of PBs of data monitoring 1000s of machines and warning service owners of any possible issues in a time sensitive manner. The mission of the team is to build systems that are not only highly scalable, performant, and reliable, but also a delight to use. Our systems help our pinners and engineers improve the performance of their product enabling them to move fast with accurate information.
What you’ll do:
- Build, own, and improve innovative storage services that serve almost all of Pinterest’s teams.
- Set direction of the development of your own database which you will open source to the external community.
- Work on making our storage solution self-serve & scalable in an efficient manner.
- Continually improve operability, scalability, efficiency, performance, and reliability of our storage solutions
What we're looking for:
- Deep expertise on distributed storage systems.
- Strong ability to work cross functionally with multiple teams and with the storage SRE/DBA team
- Fluent in C/C++ or Java.
- Good communication skills and an excellent team player
